Who We Are

Not a tour.
A community.

The Campfire Collective is a social adventure community for young travellers and backpackers aged 18–35 exploring Queensland's islands — Stradbroke, Moreton, Bribie, and Double Island Point.

We're not a commercial tour operator. We're a group of people who team up, share costs, access gear together, and explore the islands the same way locals do.

Every trip is joined by two Campfire Collective team members who organise logistics, distribute all included and hired gear prior to ferry departure, provide support and guidance to members who are new to 4WD driving, and lend a hand with any de-bogging if needed. They'll also share a relaxed plan of places worth visiting — you're welcome to join in, do your own thing, or mix it up. Nothing is guided or required. It's your weekend, your pace.

⚠️
This is not a commercial tour Members team up independently, share costs, and access gear as a peer-to-peer community. All driving is by members in their own vehicles.

Eating on the Island

How Meals Work

No catering, no meal plans — just real food, shared tables, and one of the best parts of island camping. Here's what to expect across your trip.

🥐
Breakfasts
Bring 2 breakfasts from the mainland — they're cheaper and easier to prep. Common options include eggs, bread, fruit, yoghurt, and cereal. We provide a stove and cooking equipment so you can cook at camp.
Bring from Brisbane · cheaper on the mainland
🌯
Lunches
Pack 3 lunches — easy options like wraps, sandwiches, snack packs, or anything you can eat on the go between drives. One meal on the trip will be purchased at the island or on the ferry — budget around $15–25 for this.
3 packed + 1 bought on island/ferry
🍖
Dinners
Pack 2 dinners. Many members coordinate a group cook-up in the trip chat beforehand — a BBQ or shared meal around the campfire is one of the highlights of the weekend. We provide the stove, plates, and cutlery.
Group cook-up encouraged
🍺 Drinks & alcohol
Bring your drinks from Brisbane — alcohol is available on the islands but significantly more expensive. Our fridges keep your drinks cold for the whole trip. A good rule of thumb: bring more than you think you need.
🔥 Cooking gear provided
We provide a stove, disposable plates, and cutlery for every member. Gas canisters are available to hire for a small additional fee — or bring your own. Members often coordinate a shared cook-up through the trip chat to make dinner a social event.
💡
Pro tip: Use the private trip chat to coordinate a shared group dinner with your fellow travellers before the trip. Many members prep ingredients together or assign different courses — it's one of the best ways to bond before you've even hit the sand.
